The airport run
One time, I was flying back to Los Angeles. I woke up late, hadn’t even packed my suitcase, and thought it would take only about an hour to get to the airport. Papou had told me to allow at least three. He wasn’t the fastest driver, and with the heavy traffic and detours, we both started to think I’d missed my flight. When he dropped me off, he gave me €50 and said he’d wait in case I hadn’t made it. Somehow, I got on the plane. Papou was the first person I called, and we had a good laugh about the whole thing.
